MAS MN Organizational Background and Mission

MAS MN is a religious organization operating five Masjids (Islamic Centers) in Minnesota. MAS MN provides religious programming and youth programs. About 20% of our budget is dedicated to this sector.
MAS MN is the Minnesota chapter of the Muslim American Society (MAS), which was established in 1993. Over the past two decades, MAS has established chapters across the United States and has evolved into a nationally recognized grassroots movement.

MAS MN is also much more than a religious organization; it is a community organization committed to making Minnesota a better place for all Minnesotans. MAS MN provides social services such as food shelves & emergency assistance. It is a leader in interfaith dialogue, operating the Ramadan Iftar Open House program with the MN Council of Churches and the co-organizer of the Rabbi Imam Round Table.

MAS MN is committed to engaging the immigrant community in public policy and government affairs. MAS MN conducts events that educate and mobilize the community to participate in public affairs and civic activities on a non-partisan basis and to activate a new generation of community leaders. MAS MN maintains the largest Muslim voter database consisting of 58,000 Muslim voters in the state.

MAS MN serves Muslims and non-Muslims throughout the state of Minnesota through (i) the five Masjids operated by us, (ii) Masjids, centers, and community spaces operated by our various partners, & (iii) and through our various programs that impact the state in general.
